5 Ways To Keep That Girlfriend Happy

by Samir Balwani on April 9, 2008

Getting a girlfriend is hard enough but keeping her happy shouldn’t be too difficult. Here’s 5 easy tips to keep her smiling.

1. Make Her Dinner!
This one is a no brainer, it takes literally 20 minutes max! Want an easy recipe? Buy a box of penne pasta, get vodka sauce, frozen garlic bread and a packet of salad. Boil the water, cook the penne pasta for about 10 minutes until al dente. While doing that throw the garlic bread in your oven. When the pasta’s done toss with the vodka sauce you bought and fix the salad in a bowl. Put it out on the table and she won’t know it took you less than 30 minutes and cost you only $20. And trust me, women love when you cook for them.

2. Cheat At Remembering Stuff
Google docs is a great tool. Write yourself notes on it, important dates, like your anniversary, her birthday, her mom’s birthday! Check it every once in a while and whip that date out whenever you can! “Hey isn’t your mom’s birthday coming up soon…” If you say that to her (and it’s the right date), she’ll be smiling all the way to the bedroom.

3. Buy Her Something (Small)
If you have a lot of money buy your girlfriend something expensive. But if you have a lot of money, you’re probably not even reading this… too busy buying shit. For those of us with hardly enough money to buy lunch, getting something small from the dollar store can really make your girlfriend happy. The catch is, it has to be something meaningful. Something that has an inside joke or can be construed to be a memory of a time when you did something. For example, got a girlfriend that loves hearts? Buy a bunch of heart stickers! Just remember, it’s the thought that counts.

4. A Picnic Lunch!
Cold Cuts, Fresh Bread and a blanket. That’s all you need to make her stay with you for a while longer. A nice day at the park with the two of you relaxing. This one is so simple I don’t even know what more to say.

5. Get Her a Card…
I can’t explain it, and I don’t understand why, but it seems like a good Hallmark card is an automatic win when it comes to women. Especially if you write your own little message. Tell her how much she means to you and how she does so much for you (even though we both know we do more). She’ll feel appreciated and make her happy, which in turn keeps us happy.
