I’m A Political Science Major but I Hate Politics

Wow, Hilary Clinton won Pennsylvania… Great, more stupidity on the road to the White House. Guess what, I don’t care anymore and it’s scary because I should. How does this relate to Internet Marketing? To answer that I have to give you a little history about myself.

In High School I loved Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, I would write code for programs in any language and would spend hours pouring over syntax learning as much as I could. Obviously, at this young of an age I burned out, real fast. As I became a senior I realized I wanted the fame and exposure of being a politician (What was I thinking?!). It seemed like fun at the time so I started working for a Congressman and tried to volunteer on every campaign I could.

College came along and I finished my Political Science and Engineering degree at breakneck speed. By my third year my degree was completed and I decided to take classes that would round my education, including Hindu Philosophy, Web Authoring (That’s a story in itself), and a Research in Web 2.0. It was in my third year that I had become jaded with politics, the backstabbing, hypocrisy and bureaucracy had started to drive me mad. So I did was most people don’t do, instead of being miserable I decided to change my path and started in Internet Marketing.

I understand the build up was long and the lesson to learn is this, It doesn’t matter what you did in your past Internet Marketing is open to you as a profession“. A computer science, marketing, or journalism degree is NOT mandatory to do well in this Industry. My coding education stopped at arrays right after loops and yet I’ve learned enough to make do.

So if you’re thinking about it, and have been seduced by ShoeMoney.com’s AdSense check, Google’s bright financial outlook, or just want to do something new; jump into it. Start a blog and start writing. Learning SEO is easy, mastering it takes experience.
