Link bait is definitely difficult to create but my god it can be fun. Today was dedicated to creating link bait for one of my websites and I sat here and wracked my brain on some of the better things to do.
For those that don’t know what link bait is, it’s simply a blog article / resource / video / anything that is created to build links. Usually, the creation is difficult because it’s hard to know exactly what will work and get people to link.
I’ve noticed that one of the best link bait is an interview. Interview someone in the industry that is well known. The interviewee usually gives you a link which starts a snowball effect. Want another suggestion? Make top ten lists, diggers love them. Especially if they have lots of pictures or videos.
The average internet user that has no focus or isn’t looking for something in particular, expects images and media. Media is the future of the Internet, use it whenever you can to tell your story.
