Posting Often is Important, but What About the Time?

by Samir Balwani on April 18, 2008

It’s well known fact that a constantly updated site will bring back visitors and become an authority on its niche. It’s also understood that the content you write must have quality, and there must be a reason to writing. But I don’t know how the timing of your post affects how well a site does.

My guess would be that if you posted around 9am EST everyday you’d gain a lot of habitual users coming back to read what’s new. But that allows you to post any time after 5pm to 9am the next day.

So is the rule to just make sure you have a new post before 9am? I’d love to hear your advice, statistics, and opinions? Do you post at a certain time like clock-work?
